Storytelling for Business People: Presentations to Elevator Pitches

Not all elevator pitches are created equal. You may think you’ve got a “can’t miss” pitch but if you can’t explain your idea in a compelling and interesting way, your message may get lost in translation. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to use stories and storytelling techniques to amaze and inspire your audience.
We’ll start by closely examining the different types of stories in business before delving into techniques for becoming a better listener and a more confident presenter. We’ll end the session with a brief pitching exercise that will give participants the opportunity to put their newfound storytelling skills into practice.
The Art of Conversation
2 – 2.5 hours
What does it take to navigate small talk towards deeper, more significant topics? How do you gracefully exit from monotonous or unwanted conversations? How do you organically grow your professional network?
In this workshop, we’ll explore the many ways to feel more confident engaging with strangers and forging deeper relationships with existing personal and professional contacts. We’ll delve into the dynamics of conversations of all varieties, from small talk at the office to networking events and social gatherings of all sizes. We’ll also cover tips for staying relaxed when speaking in front of large groups, as well as active listening techniques to improve information recall and emotional IQ. But most importantly, everyone will get lots of practice pitching, improvising and schmoozing.
By the end of the workshop, all participants will have a renewed confidence in their ability to navigate social interactions and an excitement about meeting new people and renewing connections with colleagues, coworkers and friends alike.
Storytelling for Business Bootcamp
1 Day (6 hours)
The world is overflowing with infinite noise. Given this, how do you use stories to stand out and capture the attention of your target audience? In this one-day course, you will learn specific ways to conceptualize, build, and implement dynamic storytelling into your business or brand.
We’ll start by examining the types of stories in business before breaking into groups for a series of exploratory exercises. Then, in the afternoon, we’ll examine the role of storytelling in today’s media landscape, from ads to tweets to video campaigns. We’ll end the day with advanced storytelling tips before giving participants the opportunity to present in front of the group and get personalized feedback.
By the end of the bootcamp, all participants will have at least three stories to share in a variety of settings and a deeper understanding of how to incorporate storytelling into their daily work to make their brands shine.

Storytelling Seminar: How to Tell an Amazing Tale
Everyone has a story to tell. In this seminar, you’ll discover your inner storyteller through improvisational exercises designed to help you find your voice, writing exercises to learn the mechanics behind storytelling, and performance tips to help you kill in front of a crowd. By the end of the course, you’ll have at least one three-minute story (if not more!) to share next time you want to impress a boss/date/officer of the law.
